Viewing Assigned Features in the Design Workspace

There are two ways to view the information in the Design Workspace:
  • By Work Location view-organizes the design data by work locations
  • By Feature Type view-organizes the data by feature type

These view options are included on the View menu of the Design Assistant (see Switching Views in the Design Workspace).

Assigned features, By Feature Type view

Assigned features, By Feature Type view

In both views, the assigned feature is displayed with a folder icon

  • If one or more macro or compatible units, materials, or custom costs have been assigned to the feature. (Information about customizing this default icon is found in the Administrator's Guide.)
  • If the feature is a compound (parent) feature. Expanding the folder shows the child features associated with the parent feature.

The following basic properties are shown for each assigned feature: Name, Description, Status, Quantity, and Cost (if units have been assigned to the feature). The particular group of feature attributes displayed in the Description column for each assigned feature is driven by attribute classifications, which can be configured with the Configuration Assistant. Feature configuration is explained in the Administrator's Guide.

For information about changing the certain values of the assigned feature's displayed properties, see Editing Properties in the Design Workspace.

The attribute values of the assigned feature can be changed with the Feature Editor. For more information, see Editing Attributes of Assigned Features.
